EST Sources

Assalamualaikum and hello.

In the old blog, I had listed various sources for the English for Science and Technology teachers and students. This is a continuation of that but instead of having it as an entry, I’m putting it up here as a page where you can always find it. Most of the available sources and materials are in Portable Document Format or pdf which can be opened by either Adobe Reader (Windows/Mac/Linux) and/or Preview (Mac). Well, enough talk and on to the sources:

The Sukatan (Syllabus) and Huraian Sukatan Pelajaran (Curriculum Specification)

Teaching and Learning Materials from the Pusat Perkembangan Kurikulum or Curriculum Development Centre
Teaching Materials Form 4

Teaching Materials Form 5

Trial Examination Papers

Hi,mussafir, how do we present the answers for information transfer???We are not supposed to lift the sentence 100% from the text???

    Hi Amanda.
Total lifting is not advisable. However, if you’re totally stuck then it’s an alternative rather than leaving the answer space empty.
The usual practice that I use is to look at the empty space first. If the empty space is short, it should be filled with one word only. If it’s longer then it may want a phrase.
The heading also helps. Names and/or types usually ask for one word answer. Characteristics and/or definitions ask for phrases.
    Hope that helps.
