Assalamualaikum and hello.
Just came back from a well deserved break with the extended family at Pantai Melawi, Bachok. My sister had reserved us 3 rooms with a local resort operator. Even though it was just for one night, it had helped me unwind. The weather wasn’t really cooperative though. It drizzled when we first got there but the kids didn’t mind at all. It was only after the Jumaat prayer that I allowed them to go down to the beach. Along didn’t waste anytime engaging in his favourite activity at the beach, building a sandcastle. I didn’t bring along my camera with me so Along’s masterpiece wasn’t captured for posterity.
This was the second time for Afif to come to a beach. As was with the first time, he was still afraid with the waves coming up the beach. But he had fun running up and down the sands. I really wish I had taken my camera along but I was afraid that it would get wet in the rain.
As for Angah, Achik and Adam (their cousin), they had swell time playing in the waves. Of course, I had to gave them stern warnings not to go too far from time to time.
All in all, the kids had great a time before I called them in later in the afternoon.
We had brought along some marinated chicken meat and Yusri, my brother-in-law had gone out later in the evening to buy some fish and prawns. We were after all just a stone throw away from Tok Bali, the fishing industy capital of Kelantan. Then my uncle and his family showed up with some more fresh prawns and we had a simple BBQ that night. Simple but really appetising and delicious. We then settled in for the night except for my uncle and his family which headed back home since he had to go to work early the next day.
Rain poured down heavily during the night and this morning. We made up our mind to pack up and head on home, since it would be pointless going to the beach in this weather. The waves also seemed a little bigger that yesterday’s. The kids were disappointed of course but understood the reasons why. All the way home, it rained.

Till then, assalamualaikum and bye.
